With Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.2 Special Program in sight, it’s time to spy a bit ahead! The developers have taken to the official HoYoLAB page to share the sneak peek at Version 2.3 characters, starting with an old friend: Firefly. This young lady played an important role in both patches of Penacony so far, and it seems that her input is far from over.
Additionally, the developers have shared a new blog post to outline new features and systems coming to the game in the update.
Firefly – 5-star Fire Destruction
“Fireflies are such magical creatures, aren’t they? They may throw themselves at a flame or suddenly grow old, but every night before that, they will shine brighter than the stars.”
A member of the Stellaron Hunters and a young girl clad in a mechanical armor “SAM.” Born as a weapon, she’s afflicted with the agony of Entropy Loss Syndrome due to genetic modification. She joined the Stellaron Hunters in search of the meaning of life, relentlessly pursuing ways to defy fate.
Analesa Fisher & Adin Rudd provided their voices for Firefly. Hopefully, with Firefly’s true identity revealed, we’ll get a chance to see her interact with Kafka, Silver Wolf and Blade.
There is still much we still don’t know about Firefly, including her no doubt impressive combat abilities. However, based on the boss battle against SAM and her walking the Path of Destruction, we are likely in for some AoE/cleave Fire damage. Things are going to get hot in Version 2.3!
Jade – 5-star Quantum Erudition
The second limited 5-star of the new version is a member of the IPC and Aventurine’s fellow Stoneheart, Jade. While we have not encountered her personally just yet, her involvement was incredibly important for Version 2.1: Into the Yawning Chasm and Aventurine’s plan. Now she is free to scheme together with our old friend Topaz while Penacony awaits its fate.

Jade is a senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department and one of the Ten Stonehearts. Her Cornerstone is “Jade of Credit.” A cold and elegant moneylender, she is skilled at understanding the human heart, with a personal hobby called “Bonajade Exchange.” She’s willing to wait patiently for high-value acquisitions and is adept at extracting value from seemingly destitute clients.
Faye Mata gave her voice to Jade. With the character walking the Path of Erudition, will she be the last missing piece of Mono Quantum, bringing forth AoE damage without the need to gamble away your Action Points? Or will she stick with the IPC theme of follow-up attacks? Stay tuned to find out!
