Aniplex and Akatsuki Games have announced a free content update for the 2D top-down pixel JRPG HYKE: Northern Light(s). Titled “A Witch’s Chill Time,” the expansion launches on April 30 on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. However, an Apple Arcade update is planned for later this year. For this occasion, the developers have prepared a new trailer showcasing the update content.

The new story takes place after the main campaign finale. Following a period of peace, the group receives an invitation from Aurora and steps into a mysterious real. However, Aurora misplaced the items needed to enjoy the hot spring. Hyke and the group set out to recover them, embarking on a new adventure to create their “ideal hot spring” experience. The update includes a new story, new encounters, and new gameplay elements set in the hot spring location.
HYKE: Northern Light(s) is a collaborative project between Akatsuki Games, Aniplex, and Blast Edge Games. The story follows a young witch, who embarks on the adventure through the forbidden zones. The game feature 2D pixel graphics and offers a mix of daring action and relaxing camping experience. The cast of seven playable characters, with unique skills and abilities, give players a chance to chose their own strategy.
