Hyperactive Superhero Soccer Sim Superball Lobs A New Demo Onto Steam

My Time At Sandrock and Let’s School studio drops a new Superball demo

Pathea Games just kicked off the return leg for the rebranded soccer sim Superball. Looking like a mix between arena hero shooters and Rocket League, this action-packed title might look a tad familiar to some. Originally named Super Buckyball Tournament, the rebranded competitive turn is a raucous 3v3 experience, and that you can try out in the brand-new demo.

Anybody leaping into the new demo can pick a character, each with their own ridiculous abilities, and try to score against the opposition.  Turn the tide of the match with outrageous moves and claim victory in a cyber-punk, near-future world. Blending strategic play with those explosive hero abilities, build a complimentary team, and make sure you never need to concede a shot.

Each match clocks in 7 minutes of chaos, or dynamic gameplay as the devs call it, with huge potential to build a team that matches your skillset. You’ll have p[; plenty of time to pick your favorite heroes, with a fully free roster for the first 72 hours after signing up. After that, you’ll want to pick from the 16 unique faces and their own powers. Characters start as a core free set. Three additional heroes are unlockable through simple tasks. The rest can be unlocked using in-game currency (Silver Coins),   with an expectation that one character will take about 5 hours of play to add. We’re not wildly worried about this monetization model, given the history of Pathea, and its tendency to lean away from gacha bait.

Loot

This is probably the best time to try out Superball, with the new demo running for 2 weeks, starting last night. Twitch viewers can also grab rewards right now. Applicable streamers will have rewards and the loot looks like this:
15 minutes: Hero Select Card (Self-pick)

30 minutes: Random Epic Skin (Purple Tier)

60 minutes: Random Goal Celebration Effect

90 minutes: Supply Voucher ×5

Loot is only applicable to the demo test, and doesn’t carry over, but it’s all free!

If you’re looking for something a bit sportier than Marvel Rivals then take a look at the trailer for Superball above and head over to try the demo now.
