Coming from Fulqrum Publishing, Voidpoint and 3D Realms, Ion Fury: Aftershock is an explosive expansion to the critically-acclaimed retro-style FPS, set to hit the consoles on October 16. Not only will the game be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $14.99 / €14.99, it will also be fully playable on PS5 and Xbox Series via backward compatibility.
The base game is available on Steam, having amassed very positive reviews since its release in August 2019. Players praise the game’s weapons and gunplay, level design, and secret finding. At the same time, others note the frustrating enemy design and no hand-holding or hints approach to gameplay, reminiscent of the oldschool retro games.
Aftershock picks up moments after defeating Dr. Jadus Heskel, as Shelly’s celebration is interrupted by explosions and her nemesis escaping in a monstrous flying machine.
