Ironmouse is leading the charge in a newly announced Smite x VShojo crossover event
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about watching VTubers managed by the VShojo label it’s that chaos is key. Despite this, I was still stunned to find out that an animated assembly of characters from the VShojo label are coming to SMITE. Announce just last night, the upcoming Smite x VShojo event will see twitch topping avatars for popular streamers Ironmouse, Veibae, Nyanners, Silvervale, Kson, and Apricot appear in the hugely popular MOBA. While this is far form the first crossover event that developer Hi-Rez has handled, it’s certainly a different step from the likes of Runescape and Transformers tie ins that we’ve seen before.
The new faces will appear in the arena as part of the 10.5 update. We expect that to land on 16 May, but the Smite x VShojo crossover event will remain time limited. Each of these additions will slot in as skins for existing characters, modifying their visual appearance. That means Ironmouse fans get Persephone, Veibae applies to Nu Wa, Nyanners is Serqet, Silvervale is Skadi, Kson will cross over with Nemesis, and Apricot gets Izanami. This might seem unusual to the more observant anime aficionado, since at least some of those online influencers have left the VShojo label. Despite this, the contracts seem to be singed and Smite seems to be selling this as one last hurrah for the team.
