See another side to the Austrian Alps as Dungeons of Hinterberg launches on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10/11 PC, and Xbox Game Pass today.
The gorgeous tourism titled dungeon crawler Dungeons of Hinterberg comes to PC and console today. Curve Games and Microbird first announced an outing into an alternative version of the Austrian Alps all the way back in 2023, and now players can grab a ticket to the action for around $29.99 / £24.99. Blending action RPG gameplay with social sim elements, this is certainly not your normal hack ‘n’ slash.
If you do end up making the journey to pick a copy, expect to head out into an open world with a tourist guide in one hand and a sword in the other. Playing as Luisa, a burnt-out law trainee taking a break from her fast-paced corporate life, you’ll take toa wonderfully stylized version of the snowy peaks. Between snowboarding through the hills, take a stop to delve into huge dungeons. Battle over 25 instances with more than 20 different types of enemies. Overcome epic encounters, and then maybe head back for hot coco.
In an unusual twist, Luisa spends evenings forging friendships with the locals and other adventurers. Talk to the population of small towns and hang out at Hinterberg’s famous apres-slay bar. More than just narrative padding, the relationships that endure are the ones that change the game, so don’t forget to stop by and have a chat.
Dungeons of Hinterberg launches today, but there’s no need to put down a deposit yet. You can try out the title and experience the unique concept in the demo. Just head over to the Steam Store to try before you tackle the mountain. Find out more on the official website now.
