Gaming Factory and 4Divinity have announced a Japanese Drift master launch delay with a release date of 21st May 2025.
JDM is taking the scenic route to launch. The homage to eastern motor sports that roared onto our radar recently, just got a new launch date. Players will now be able to get in gear across Steam, Epic, and GoG on 21st May 2025. Developer Gaming Factory has confirmed that rather than anything serious mechanical issues, the extra time is tailored to give this racing sim final polish before players try it out for real.
The team behind the wheel set out the specifics in a statement to press:
“From the very beginning, our guiding principle has been quality. Every drift, every car, every road has been carefully crafted to bring the most immersive open-world drifting experience possible. After careful consideration, we believe that taking extra time for the final polish is the best course of action to deliver a game that meets and exceeds expectations.”
Thew news also came with a video update, which you can check out above. Alongside the update, the teaser gives players another look at what to expect from JDM. The open-world arcade racer is a mix of ideas, putting players in a fictional interpretation of Japan.
While following Polish driver Touma, as he makes a name for himself on the streets, racers will speed across a fictional Japanese prefecture – Guntama. The landscape spans over 250 km in main roads and features the most famous tourist landmarks, while you’ll sit in a range of iconic cars from d Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, and more. Off the beaten track, you’ll engage in a story told in manga panels, making this a love letter the Japanese culture.
