Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 headed to XB1 in 2020

During yesterday’s X019 event in London, Square Enix announced lots of great Kingdom Hearts news for fans of the series.

First off the bat, both KH1 and KH2 are heading to Xbox One in 2020. Release editions will be called Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Both of these editions were previously released for PlayStation 4 individually and, later, as a combined edition called “Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far”. Whether the combined edition will be coming to Xbox One or not remains to be seen.

Regardless, there’s a ton of content in both games: Nine full chapters that span the breadth of the entire series’ story.

Here’s what’s inside:

KH HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX

  • Final Mix
  • Re: Chain of Memories
  • 358/2 Days
  • KH 2 Final Mix
  • Birth by Sleep Final Mix
  • Re:coded

KH HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue

  • Dream Drop Distance HD
  • 0.2: Birth by Sleep – a Fragmentary Passage
  • X Back Cover movie

There’s even more good news for series fans: a brand spanking new KH3 demo is also available for download both on Xbox One and for PlayStation 4.

  1. I need a Nintendo Switch release, would seem like a good match.
