RGB lighting has spent years creeping across gaming setups like a slowly spreading sci-fi infection. Now Lepro is pushing even further into immersive entertainment with the launch of the new STV1 TV backlight system, a camera-based ambient lighting setup designed for movies, gaming, sports, and music.
Unlike standard LED strips that simply glow behind the television, the STV1 uses a camera-driven sync system to extend on-screen colors outward into the room. The company says its new LightIMS Instant Sync technology reacts 36% faster than comparable competing products, helping lighting keep pace with rapid visual changes during action scenes, games, and live sports.
That faster response time matters more than most people realize. When reactive lighting lags behind the actual picture, the effect stops feeling immersive and starts feeling like your walls are buffering.
Lepro is also leaning heavily into AI-driven customization with its LightGPM 4 AI Lighting Designer. Users can generate custom lighting scenes using text, voice, or image prompts, allowing setups tailored for everything from movie nights to sports watch parties.Apparently we have now reached the point where you can ask your lighting system to “make the room feel like a cyberpunk anime boss fight,” and technology will simply nod politely and comply.
One genuinely smart feature is the simplified hardware design. The STV1 combines its camera and controller into a single integrated unit, reducing cable clutter and making installation easier than some of the more elaborate ambient lighting systems currently on the market. The system also includes automatic blank-screen detection, shutting off the lights when the television goes dark to avoid unnecessary power use and random room glow at 2 a.m.
The STV1 TV Backlight is now available in two sizes, with the 55-65 inch model priced at $89.99 and the 75-85 inch version coming in at $109.99.
