Microsoft and Audeze are about to bring a splash of color to desktops with the Maxwell Ultraviolet edition.
Admit it. You’re bored of black, red and overpowering RGB lighting on your desktop headset too. Gamers looking for something that breaks the mould and manages some of the best sound around might want to take a look at the new collaboration between Microsoft and Audeze. The technology giant and the team behind my conversion to a very particular audio tech have announced a limited edition “Ultraviolet” version of their highly lauded Maxwell gaming headset.
Available in limited quantities via the Audeze website very son, this will arrive as part of team green’s Designed for Xbox Summer product collection. It features the same planer magnetic drivers and tuned sound as the original Maxwell design, with a stunning lick of purple. I’ve got to admit that while the Audeze Penrose headset blew me away, I’m loving this look far more.
Audeze stands out among the myriad of gaming headset hardware due to its planar magnetic driver tech. Rather than attach a music making diaphragm to a small electric coil at the centre of your earcup, planar magnetic drivers weave a magnetic strip into the entire body of the speaker’s physical component. This allows the entire speaker diaphragm to move with greater uniformity. Generally, this results in better responses and a more precise sound.
If you’re also tempted by the Audeze Maxwell Ultraviolet gaming headset, then you’ll have to head over to the official Audeze website to check out more when this becomes available any moment now. Don’t expect it to be cheap, but probably it’ll be worth it.
