Developer The Matte Black Studio and publisher Apogee Entertainment have presented the Steam Next Fest demo for the 2D action RPG Platformer LUCID.
The protagonist of the game is a young Sentinel Oenn that ventures into a crystal-punk world shattered by catastrophe. As his journey unfolds, Oenn absorbs powerful abilities that sharpen movement and amplify combat, opening new ways to explore and strike against enemies and towering bosses.
LUCID is inspired by the golden age of 2D sidescrollers, blending nostalgic design with modern mechanics to deliver fast, expressive gameplay wrapped in an emotional narrative.
The updated demo invites players to explore multiple handcrafted biomes, each filled with unique enemies, traversal challenges, secrets, and boss encounters. Here are some of the improvements that await you inside:
