Maliki: Poison of the Past turns a beloved web comic into a cozy RPG today.
Development studio Blue Banshee asks us to cure the Poison of the Past today, brining 2D escapades of web comic Maliki to a different format. The studio, co-founded by web artist Souillon, launches a successful as a cozy narrative driven RPG, where players must guide a band of colorful adventurers across a defeated land to restore balance to the world.
Aimed at being accessible to newcomers and long term fans of the established comic, this new adventure is set in a world where a defeated humanity clashes with invasive and vengeful natural forces. A bit more than some garden vine weed, this danger threatens our heroes’ homes. Featuring a host of familiar faces rendered in chibi-inspired visuals, it’s an inviting experience.
A unique turn-based mechanic is available to help anybody ready to join Maliki. Temporal manipulation allows players to manipulate the course of time. Sounding a little like Cris Tales’ turn based time twisting m this allows players to create powerful combos by shifting opponents into the past and chaining together attacks by sliding them into the future too. Use this powerful tool to find and defeat Poison, a powerful plant entity set on a little more than simple mischief. Featuring inspiration taken from 20 years of online tales, a gorgeous graphic style, and an approachable design for all players, this should be a great choice for all the family.
