Mech Your Shot Count in Nyan Heroes Coming Winter 2025

Arena Shooter Nyan Heroes brings a mecha shooter to screens later in 2025.

Fighting cats in giant robots come to do battle against nefarious foes! No, it isn’t another Samurai Pizza cats trailer. It’s a new trailer and release news for the upcoming title from a roster of industry veterans that has been on our radar since DATE. Now player will be able to pick from a range of anthropomorphic cats, gear their mech, and get into the appropriately named Battledome, sometime towards the end of the year..

The new trailer details the upcoming gameplay. Designed by a team made up of g Niles Sankey (Halo, Destiny), Justin Randall (Ghost Recon), John Walsh (Microsoft Flight Simulator), Asimakis Reppas (EVE Online), and more, this is more than just a series of cute cats on the internet. The new brawler visits the land of New Nekovia where its citizens battle for sport. Players can pick from a range of roles, join a team, and tweak your playstyle using a range of options. Foremost is the unique dynamic weapon-Augment-combo abilities, which are a new twist on traditional class ideas and give some flexibility to play. Gameplay is highly mobile and lighting fast, with players able to stompy and dash around a multi layered enivronment, and even survive if your mech get busted. When we tested it, this shooter was surprisingly slick. While it is a blockchain game, we’re hoping that won’t block players from actually playing.

“For players who are familiar with blockchain games, Nyan Heroes takes a different approach. We’ve seen how games in this space can get too focused on the speculative side of things, often at the expense of actual gameplay. Nyan Heroes stands out because it prioritizes gameplay first. Our priority is to offer a polished, competitive hero shooter that feels complete and satisfying on its own…We’re not just chasing trends, we’re building something that can last.”

Nyan Heroes is planning a big year, with their fourth open playtest live and a Q4 launch. To find out more, check out the official Epic Games Store playtest page now.

For those of you who I’ve not met yet, my name is Ed. After an early indoctrination into PC gaming, years adrift on the unwashed internet, running a successful guild, and testing video games, I turned my hand to writing about them. Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
