Coming from Amber Studio, Mexican Ninja is the fast and gloriously over-the-top roguelike beat ’em up that takes players to the streets of Nuevo Tokyo to start the uprising against the Narkuzas. Mark your calendars: the game slices its way into full release on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on August 20.
Nuevo Tokyo is a chaotic feudal regime forged when Mexico’s Narcos and Japan’s Yakuza merged into a new ruling class: the Narkuzas. On the outskirts of the city a group of rebels is plotting against the five heads of the Narkuza clan. Taking on them promises adrenaline-pumping combat where precise movement, positioning and perfectly timed attacks decide every duel.
The developers promise that each playthrough will be different, with randomized levels, over-the-top duels, new ninja skills and more.
“This is the moment we have been building toward. Every parry, every jutsu, every run is about that feeling of getting knocked down and standing back up with more swagger than before. Mexican Ninja has always been a vibe, a spirit, a way of being and now players everywhere can find their inner donkey,” – said Dario Hoyo, Creative Director at Mexican Ninja.
