Mysterious Forces and a Gorgeous World Await in Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients

Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients is about to bring a whole new world of adventure to PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms in early 2024.

Independent game developer C2 Game Studio and Versus Evil just revealed another new title among all today’s drops, and I’m defiantly booking some time to go explore Gliese next year. Due to head out onto PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms in early 2024, Monolith is an action fantasy RPG that will save a mystical fantasy world. Gliese is threatened by dark forces and revenants from a forgotten time. Astor, a young warrior and the tile’s protagonist, must unearth the secrets of the past and save their home before the worst happens.

During this quest, Astor will journey across an expansive, colorful world, full of mystery and danger. Ruins, abandoned homesteads, and the last crumbling ruins of a forgotten age are all intertwined with a colorful landscape. Between the rolling hills and frozen tundra sit the secrets that might save the world. This isn’t as simple as navigating. Powerful enemies, ancient warriors, and more are ready to cut down this quest, but players will have their own options. Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients boasts a rich, deeply satisfying combo-based combat system with a variety of ancient weapons and special abilities. Wield the Runic Swarm to summon constructs, crush enemies with massive boulders, or protect himself with a rock formation shield.

“With Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients our goal is to create a mystical world full of whimsical characters and creatures, like the fantasy movies we grew up with back in the 80s and 90s. Beautiful, yet with a tint of darkness” said Luis Correa, Founder & game director at C2 Game Studio. “We wanted to marry a lush, stylized world with first-rate combat, and were inspired by titles like Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry, God of War and Nier Automata. Monolith is a love letter to all the grandiose action-adventure games that inspired us so much, both in our youth and to this day!”

You can see the inspiration for Monolith’s combat and creatures in the reveal trailer. If you’re ready to save the world with your wits, some cool combat abilities, and the wise words of a mysterious presence, then find out more on the Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients Steam Store page now.
