Another year, another November 7th, another Mass Effect’s N7 day celebration from Bioware and the game’s community, including the new merch drop in the Bioware Gear Store!
As per the tradition, the Bioware team and Executive Producer Mike Gamble have shared a new blog post. In it, the team shares what Mass Effect means for them, and that the production is going strong, with the developers 100% in on it now.
“The truth is, the last few years have been an incredibly busy time at BioWare. But currently, the team is heads-down and focused exclusively on Mass Effect. We have a lot of universe to cover, lots of features to build, and lots of romances to figure out. We’re excited by what we’re building, and we promise you: when we’re ready, it’ll be a lot of fun to show. Until then, thank you for your patience because y’all are thirsty for news and I see you looking for secret meaning in my tweets (okay, sometimes they have secret meaning).”
The blog post also shared some interesting clues to the future of the franchise – not only the upcoming Mass Effect Next game, but the Amazon TV series that is currently in the works. The community had been rather suspicious if it would be a TV adaptation of the trilogy, but now we got some exciting news. The show will explore a brand-new story within the universe’s timeline, and will be set after the original trilogy.
Regarding the new game, hawk-eyed players have noticed that some letters in the blog post were italicized, and when put together they’ve made a phrase “URL KROGAN”. Not only that, but Mike Gamble also shared a new N7 day art featuring Krogans blasting away, with the caption saying “Civil War”.
When a user asked him whether this is from the franchise’s past or future, he’d stated: “Future.” He also Tweeted: “Everything you’ve seen – from all N7 days – will connect.”
