Nioh 3 First DLC Release Date Announced

Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA have revealed the release date for the first Nioh 3 DLC. Titled Hell Rising, it expands the main story into a new version of reality. Takechiyo is led to a future Edo overrun by the Crucible, where a new conspiracy over the Spirit Stone takes root. With allies Yagyu Jubei and Rodrigo, he has to find the truth and change the course of events. The DLC will become the first of two story expansions, tied by one plot line.

Key DLC Features

  • New Open Field: Keian-era Edo (1651) transformed into a war-torn wasteland filled with yokai, rebels, and foreign alchemists.
  • New Weapons: Hoko and Shield (Samurai and Ninja styles), which balance short spear offense with shield defense. Includes shield throws.
  • New Enemies: Includes Yagyu Jubei. Defeat for new equipment and Soul Cores.
  • Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scrolls: Customizable challenge battles with millions of variations. Strengthen scrolls for special effects. Supports multiplayer.
  • New Difficulty ‘Enlightened One’s Journey’: Third playthrough with cursed enemies, which brings higher risk but guarantees divine rarity drops.
  • New Cosmetics: Western-designed outfits of Spanish alchemists.
  • Additional Content: New Guardian Spirits, Martial Arts, skills, Ninjutsu, Onmyo Magic, Grace effects, and powerful special effects for builds.

The first DLC for Nioh 3, titled Hell Rising, is set to release on August 19, 2026. Meanwhile, the Demo version of the main game is available on Steam.
