Nioh 3 Shines in Alpha Demo

Nioh 3 Shines in Alpha Demo

Team Ninja shared the results of the Nioh 3 Alpha Testing, that took place from 5 to 18 June. The results shown after surveys are overwhelmingly positive for Alpha Demo stage, but there is still a lot of work for developers to do before the game is ready to face the world in its final form.

Key Findings:

  • 90.9% of testers rated their overall alpha experience as positive
  • 80% praised the combat system, with nearly equal appreciation for both the classic samurai and new ninja fighting styles
  • 80.1% of players liked the new ‘Expedition’ co-op mode.
  • 62.7% rated the graphics of the demo as great.

Moreover, the players also praised the Guardian Spirit Skills, Living Artifacts and many other aspects of the game introduced during Alpha Testing. However, the difficulty level got mostly mixed opinion.

Team Ninja acknowledged these encouraging results, stating they’re motivated to refine elements that didn’t meet player expectations. A detailed improvement plan is already in motion, with development now intensifying.

From the Development Team:

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who answered the survey.
Your thoughts are extremely important to us and will serve as a basis for further development. This report will allow our team of developers to take our next steps for this project and bring you the final polished version of “Nioh 3”.

Nioh 3 is the latest game in the dark samurai action RPG series, developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. This time, players will explore the open world, conquer the crucible, and become shogun. The new chapter in the Nioh series introduces real-time combat style switching, blending the Samurai’s head-on techniques with the Ninja Style’s quick movement and special abilities.

While the developers haven’t announced a release date yet, they promise an early 2026 launch.
