No Man’s Sky is back with a brand-new update trailer! Turn your hand to palaeontology in update 5.6, RELICS! Unearth hundreds of unique bones, assemble skeletons to design fossil exhibits, join the community on an expedition to recreate lost creatures, battle against gargantuan stone guardians, and more!
Following the massive Worlds Part II update in January, the devs let their imaginations run wild and had a blast playing around with something whimsical but transformative. Possibly the most surprising update to date, RELICS is available now to download for PC, console and VR free to existing players.
“Since launch, because of the way that No Man’s Sky’s planetary terrain works, No Man’s Sky players have enjoyed being able to dig down through the earth to find buried technologies or other valuable items hidden beneath their feet. From today, players will start to find a whole new category of palaeontological finds – the skeletal remains of alien creatures which used to inhabit these worlds. So terrain manipulators at the ready!”
Just as there are living creatures populating the star systems, there is also a huge variety of prehistoric bones to excavate and collect, coming in all shapes and sizes. Reassemble them in any way you see fit and put on display in your bases-turned-museums or share with your fellow Travellers.
