No Man’s Sky – Xeno Arena Update Overview
- Creature Collection: Over ten years of creature variety now serve a gameplay purpose. Rare robotic creatures on distant planets possess unique abilities such as neutron blast attacks.
- Training and Breeding: Creatures can be trained, bred, and genetically modified to create new variants and colorations. Feeding, bonding, and sparring improve abilities over time.
- Xeno Arena Battles: Holo-arenas located in Space Stations and the Nexus allow players to battle pets against friends, strangers, and NPCs for rewards. Includes daily challenges, ranks, leagues, and seasonal rewards.
- Elemental Affinities: Species have abilities tied to their xeno type and home world. A toxic planet blob differs from a frozen moon flying dino. Rarer biomes yield rarer creatures, which are harder to counter in battles.
- Legendary Variants: Extremely rare creatures with exceptional stats. Sharing knowledge and locations with other players creates an economy around rare finds.
- Buildable Arena: Players can construct their own multiplayer-enabled Xeno Arena, challenge friends, host tournaments, and travel the galaxy to battle other players’ champions.
