Moon Studios GmbH has presented a brand-new trailer for the action RPG No Rest for the Wicked. The video marks an important milestone – the upcoming release of the co-op mode, coming into the game on 22 January. Earlier, the open beta for this feature ended successfully, and the developers are finishing the polishing based on players’ feedback. Co-op won’t have any paywalls or need special passes. The players will be free to form the crew and meet the consequences of their actions.
Co-op Key Details
The cooperative mode in No Rest for the Wicked takes the Soulslike formula, yet is structured around a shared world.
- Invited players merge into a shared world. Allies can log in, defeat enemies, and collect loot even while other players are offline. The developers at Moon Studios compare the system to a persistent online world similar to Minecraft, however, without the need to rent a server.
- Teammates are not forced to stay together and can pursue entirely separate activities within the same world.
- Players are free to exchange items with one another directly.
- For co-op sessions, enemy difficulty, numbers, and enemy AI are scaled. Players will face more and tougher foes with an AI capable of responding to coordinated strategies, like recognizing and countering attempts to distract and backstab.
- Downed allies can be revived, but consumes the health of the reviver.
Early Access version of No Rest for the Wicked is available on Steam. However, at releas,e it will also come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
