Coming from developer Lost Cabinet Games, Obsidian Moon is a branching noir horror detective. The game is taking part in the Steam Detective Fest with a playable Steam demo, available on the official page right now! Analyze evidence, connect clues, and uncover dark secrets through genre-bending deduction mechanics and inspired by Lovecraftian horror and ancient Minoan myth.
“Step into a dark, story-driven detective experience where truth is fractured, reality bends, and every clue pulls you deeper into the grasp of the Dark Mother. The demo isn’t just a vertical slice, it’s a real case, built to show how much freedom the game gives you. We want you to experiment, make mistakes, and feel what it’s like to live inside an investigation, even if it costs.”
In the demo, players will get the full introductory murder case designed as the tutorial. Prepare for 30+ investigative solutions, depending on your choices and methods, 20 to 45 minutes of gameplay based on your approach, and an almost complete gameplay feature set.
About Obsidian Moon:
Set in the smoke-filled alleys of a city drowning in secrets, Obsidian Moon is a text-based detective adventure rooted in the 1930s noir and psychological tension.
Take on the role of Sam Carter, a once-respected homicide detective haunted by grief and failure, tasked with solving a series of interconnected murders through logic, instinct, and the steady collapse of his own sanity. Armed with vintage forensics, gritty intuition, and limited time, you’ll follow leads, interrogate suspects, and make costly choices that may bring you closer to the truth, or break you entirely.
- 10 Intricate murder cases that interconnect into a larger plot involving a sinister cult that aims to resurrect an ancient dark entity, plus Optional side cases that reveal the key backstories.
- A haunting mystery – Psychological and chthonic horror inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and the mythologies of the Mediterranean Sea cultures.
- Detective tools & abilities – Inspect clues, conduct surveillance, or even use a fully equipped 1930s forensics lab.
- Player-driven investigation – interrogate witnesses, run forensic reports, dig into criminal records… or use your magnum to extract a confession (seriously don’t do this).
