Announced at the start of the week by tech manufacturer Govee, the latest light strip in its expanding range of RGB decoration is possibly the perfect upgrade to your gaming cave or entertainment room. Following on from the company’s existing range of LED light decorations, this new connected option takes the RGB illumination that’s crept off the desktop and into our living space, and crams in a bunch of upgrades.
Anybody who grabs either end of this long light will find a total of connected segments, each packing a total of 60 light beads per meter. This sounds like something of an arbitrary number, but that is a sizeable jump from their current set of four segments at 24 beads per meter. That means probably more lumens than you’ll need crammed into 5 meters of lighting magic.
Alongside the headline upgrades, Govee adds in a bunch of configurations. A pre installed control box with an integrated mic allows the ambiance to go beyond a wash of color. Owners will be able to connect it to other Govee systems, synch to surrounding audio with 11 different music modes, or create modular moods with effects like fade, twinkle, and flow. While the new LED light strip provides a ton of physical flexibility and customization using the wider suite of products, I personally appreciate the option to be as wild or simple as you like, with control via Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant, or Wi-Fi and Bluetooth via the Govee app. If you feel like the latest gaming desk or chair isn’t RGB enough, then why not?
