The developers of cRPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous have shared a new lore tidbit on Steam, dedicated to one of the playable races – the aasimar. During the stay on Golarion, both in the Stolen Lands and in Mendev, players could run into a variety of aasimars of various heritages – they are quire common in the Crusader nation due to the presence of Angels.
The celestial heritage can lie dormant in a family for multiple generations before manifesting itself in an aasimar child whose parents might not have even been aware of the celestial blood in their veins. Additionally, aasimars can be born as the result of divine intervention, or when a woman who is already expecting a baby visits another plane or an area full of strong positive energy.
Contrary to the popular belief, not all aasimars are descendants of Angels. The classification includes:
- Idyllkin (Agathion-Blooded)
- Angelkin (Angel-Blooded)
- Lawbringer (Archon-Blooded)
- Musetouched (Azata-Blooded)
- Plumekith (Garuda-Blooded)
- Emberkin (Peri-Blooded)
Some of the Aasimars encountered by players are Arsinoe (she offers healing and sells scrolls in Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous), sir Allfrey (the loyal follower of the tentacles of Iomedae) and, of course, sassy count Daeran Arendae. To learn more about the race, check out the Steam post.
