Planet Zoo 2 – Creature Feature: Managing a Zoo

Planet Zoo 2 – Creature Feature: Managing a Zoo

With Planet Zoo 2 launching next month, Frontier Developments has presented the final Creature Feature entry. This time it explores the systems that keep the gates open, the animals thriving, and other managements elements. The developers prepared many features and innovations to gameplay process, to ensure engaging and smooth game experience.

Features Overview

  • Planet Hub: New system that helps players to manage an international conservation network from a single point. They can view and visit zoos across the globe, handle trading, storage, and research, and hop between locations seamlessly.
  • Thriving state: Every animal has welfare needs. Players should create truly natural, enriching habitats, and animals live longer while guests donate more. Reaching Thriving status requires research to understand each species and what they need in the wild.
  • Guests: Happy visitors fund the dream. Players must keep them happy with food, rest, and clean facilities. Unhappy guests will leave early and demand refunds. Balance is key: animals need space to hide and relax, while guests want a good view.
  • Infrastructure: Facilities power the zoo. Players must build support structures, maintain water networks, and keep everything running. Staff facilities don’t need to be hidden because guests enjoy watching Vets and Keepers at work.
  • Helping Hand: Caretakers, Keepers, Mechanics, Vendors, Vets, and Educators. Players assign them to Work Zones, keep them trained and paid fairly, and they’ll keep the wheels turning. Neglect them, and they’ll walk.
  • Management:  Expansion costs money. Salaries, energy bills, and animal adoptions all drain the balance. Players maintain positive cash flow through ticket prices, souvenirs, donations, marketing campaigns, or loans. Investment in research unlocks new items, improved welfare, and the chance to release animals into Wildlife Reserves.

Planet Zoo 2 is a new entry in a zoo sanbox series. With aquatic animals, birds, and Wildlife Reserves, the game keeps management familiar while smoothing the rough edges. Veterans will find plenty to master. Newcomers will find it easier than ever to build something extraordinary. The game launches on October 13, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
