Gaming accessory leader Razer has officially launched its newest premium controller for PlayStation 5 and PC: the Raiju V3 Pro for PS5. The Raiju is set to be a serious entry into the competitive-grade gamepad arena. Priced at $219.99, the Raiju V3 Pro delivers advanced features that aim to elevate precision and customization, but also arrives with a few trade-offs that gamers should know.
Razer designed the Raiju V3 Pro with tournament-level play in mind. It features TMR (Tunneling Magneto-Resistance) thumbsticks, a first for a PS5 controller, engineered to virtually eliminate stick drift and maintain consistent tension for analog feel.
Other standout perks include:
- Four removable “mouse-click” rear paddles plus two claw-grip bumpers for extra input flexibility.
- Razer’s Pro HyperTriggers and adjustable trigger stops, allowing fine-tuned input sensitivity across genres.
- A hybrid connectivity setup: wireless via 2.4GHz dongle or wired via USB-C (with a 2 meter braided cable included). On PS5 wireless mode, the polling rate tops out at 250 Hz; wired on PC it reaches 2000 Hz.
- A tournament-ready carry case, swappable thumbstick caps, modular back-button tooling kit, and full integration with Razer Synapse 4 customization software.
Despite its high marks in certain areas, the Raiju isn’t without drawbacks. Due to PlayStation’s licensing rules for third-party controllers, it omits adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, features built into Sony’s own DualSense line. Also worth noting: while it supports wired and wireless connections, it uses a USB-A dongle for wireless connectivity rather than native Bluetooth/PS5 pairing, which may feel less elegant to some users.
The Raiju V3 Pro US release is still pending due to regulatory certification. Based on reviews, the Raiju V3 Pro will be a formidable addition to the PS5 controller market. While it doesn’t replicate every feature of Sony’s DualSense controller, the Raiju V3 Pro is tailor-made for gamers who demand performance and adjustability.
