Reverse: 1999 – Version 3.6 ‘Last and First Principles’ arrives on July 2nd with new events, stories, and one of the most long-awaited Arcanist there is: Adler Hofmann, also known as Enigma.
Before the Storm, Adler Hofmann was a distinguished theoretical physicist at the Laplace Scientific Computing Center. Amid the reversing tide of time, he stood like a sudden, stubborn reef, stuck at that pivotal moment of the world’s upheaval, neither able to integrate nor willing to compromise.
Things have started to change during the hectic operations taking place during the Storm of 1913 simultaneously on Apeiros and in Vienna during Chapter 6. The Timekeeper’s crew, the Vienna group that included Enigma’s older sister, Greta, and the Laplace staff banded together to develop a medium later named the Hofmann Knot.
It allowed anyone, human or Arcanist, to invoke the ritual by tying the knot, with a 0.49% chance of surviving the side effects, and led to the creation and production of the Equilibrium Umbrella, a device offering reliable protection from the Storm.

About Reverse: 1999
A mysterious phenomenon known as the “Storm” hit the world on the last day of 1999, causing anything it touched to be reversed and the time to stop progressing. In Reverse: 1999, players control Vertin the Timekeeper, an Arcanist from the St. Pavlov organization that seeks to protect humanity.
As the only person immune to the effects of the “Storm”, Vertin travels through different eras and recruits a cast of diverse Arcanists to aid her in understanding this phenomenon.
