Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Holds the Grim Darkness Challenge & Kicks Off Twitch Drops

Developer Owlcat Games is kicking off a streamer competition that will test their mettle in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. Over the course of two weeks, the participants will compete live in beating the game on Daring difficulty in the Grim Darkness mode.

The Grim Darkness gameplay mode is Rogue Trader’s take on the Ironman challenge. The developers describe it as the ultimate trial for the most experienced, most prepared (or perhaps, most reckless!) players. With Grim Darkness active, players can utilize only one save file that is automatically updated every time you exit the game. No second chances or reloads!

“The challenge will begin in just a few hours, on 00:00 GMT October 22, and last for 2 weeks until 23:59 GMT November 4, or until all players have successfully completed their playthroughs or were eliminated.”

To celebrate the occasion, the developers have also announced Twitch Drops, awarding three unique in-game items for grabs. Here’s what you can get: a pack of mind-twitching grenades, a helmet of tactical superiority, and a special servo skull (rumour has it, the skull has a few words for those who decide to click on it).

All you have to do is link your PC account to Twitch, watch any of the Rogue Trader streams on Twitch with Drops enabled for at least an hour, and claim your items in-game.
