Rokid announced this week that it is bringing Gemini Flash 3.5 integration to its smart glasses lineup, expanding the company’s push toward always-available AI assistants that live directly on your face. It sounds futuristic, mildly dystopian, and exactly where consumer tech has been heading ever since somebody looked at a smartphone and thought, “What if this never left your field of vision?”
According to Rokid, the Gemini Flash 3.5 upgrade will allow for more conversational and context-aware interactions across its glasses platform. The company says users can expect faster responses, improved precision, and deeper contextual understanding, all aimed at helping people complete more complex tasks through simple voice commands.
What stands out here is not just the addition of another AI model. Every hardware company on Earth seems contractually obligated to mention AI at least six times per press release now. The more notable angle is Rokid’s focus on “agentic” AI experiences, meaning systems that can chain together actions and workflows rather than simply answer isolated questions.
Rokid says its ecosystem already extensively supports AI agents in Asia through its Rizon platform, which enables developers and users to build customized AI workflows with minimal technical barriers. The company claims it has already received more than 3,000 workflow submissions, with over 400 approved for its Rokid Agent Store. That store is expected to launch internationally in the future.
The company also emphasized its ongoing partnership with Google. Rokid Glasses and Rokid AI Glasses Neo were among the first smart glasses devices to support multiple major AI models, including Gemini, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Qwen. That multi-model approach may end up being one of Rokid’s smarter long-term plays as AI ecosystems continue fragmenting into competing platforms.
Rokid is additionally working with Google on accessibility-focused features for users with hearing and vision impairments. That aspect could ultimately prove more practical than some of the broader “AI companion” marketing currently flooding the wearable space.
