Grey State Studio, the part of the Tencent, has announced their debut project — tactical RPG shooter Rules of Engagement: The Grey State. This free-to-play game combines first person tactical shooter, horror and RPG elements in the sci-fi setting. The players to take a role of a special force operatives and team up in multiplayer to retrieve priceless artifacts. However, it’s not just a common mission, for the dreadful creatures are waiting in the shadows.
Rules of Engagement: The Grey State is a story about Striders, the elite operatives hired by a mysterious organization. Their mission is to step into The Grey State, a dangerous dimension where the worst nightmares comes true. Behind this frontier, numerous monsters lurk in the shadows, guarding The Vertex. Retrieving this artifact is the main goal of the team. However, is it wise to put all eggs in one basket? The organization doesn’t hire one team, and the race for the price and score begins. It’s not about saving the world. It’s just business.
The developers promise that the game won’t follow the pay-to-win pattern. Purchases won’t affect any stats of the characters nor give any kind of advantage. Every paid content there is said to be strictly cometical, allowing the players to express their individuality.
