Coffee Stain Studios is taking its wildly popular factory-building PC game Satisfactory to the tabletop, announcing Satisfactory: The Board Game as a competitive, sandbox strategy experience for 1 to 4 players. Developed and published by MOOD Publishing, the team behind the Deep Rock Galactic and Valheim board games, this new adaptation aims to capture the core planning and optimization of the video game while standing on its own as a proper strategy board game.
Players take on the familiar role of FICSIT Pioneers, landing on the alien world of MASSAGE-2(A-B)b and racing to carve it up for resources in the name of efficient production. Just like in the PC game, the goal is to build the most effective factory network possible, chaining together extraction, refinement, and transport in a way that keeps your machines humming and your output climbing. The tabletop twist is that you are doing this in direct competition with up to three other players, all trying to be the first to complete the Space Elevator and claim the coveted “Employee of the Month” bragging rights.
According to the announcement, Satisfactory: The Board Game focuses on engine-building and logistics, with players planning production chains, placing buildings, and scaling their networks over a series of turns. The designers stress that their goal was not to simply recreate the PC game one-to-one, but to translate its strategic depth into a board game that can stand alone, which suggests more emphasis on tight decision-making and less on the sprawling free-form chaos you get in a digital factory sandbox.
The game was revealed during the Gamefound Feast event, with crowdfunding planned to kick off on Gamefound in September 2026. For fans of the PC original, this is another way to obsess over conveyor belt layouts and production bottlenecks, only now with cardboard, tokens, and probably a bit more table talk about who stole the iron node you were clearly eyeing three turns ago. Board game players who enjoy engine builders and economic logistics titles should keep an eye on the campaign as Coffee Stain and MOOD share more about components, artwork, and specific mechanics in the coming months.
