Steel Seed will now launch on 22 April 2025.
Steel Seed is set to thrust us into a stealth-action adventure, but not until we get a bit closer to the future. The upcoming trip into a robotic dystopia comes to PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on 22 April 2025. This is a minor delay from the original 10 April launch date, meaning players looking to follow Zoe and her companion drone into the fight of their lives won’t have to wait too much longer.
ESD Digital and Storm in a Teacup confirmed the delay is intended to give the talented team behind the game more time to finetune both platform adaptation on consoles and game optimization.
“Since the game’s announcement, your excitement has been truly inspiring, and we know how much you’ve been looking forward to a deep dive into a dark sci-fi future on all platforms. That’s why we want to be completely open with you: We encountered some technical hurdles related to platform adaptation when running our platform certification tests. Rather than rushing the console release and risking a potentially substandard console user experience that requires swift patching, we have made the difficult, but necessary decision to delay the launch,” said Ilia Svanidze, Head of Marketing of ESDigital Games.

The news comes shortly after the release of trailers and a Steam demo, hyping up the imminent release. Players prepared to leap into the future will find themselves in the role of Zeo, something of a rebel in a dark sci-fi world where humanity stands on the brink of extinction. In this world, the machines rule over the last lingering vestiges of humanity. You’ll the depths of a hostile underground facility in search of answers and the key to the survival of mankind. While there’s plenty of high octane action and sneaking, the outing promises a thoughtful look at humanity and some deep character evolution. Fans of Deus Ex and Ghostrunner will want to check this out.
