Shashingo Brings Japanese Photo Fun To Nintendo Switch

Grab Shashingo on Nintendo Switch and cram in a few more phrases before the plane lands!

Japanese learning game Shashingo just arrived in a foreign land. The charming Japanese edutainment title from Autumn Pioneer is available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Originally launched on PC earlier this year, this mix of language learning and simulated photography is a unique way to start tackling an intimidating language.

Players who pick up the new port will find themselves wandering around a vivid 3D representation of a Japanese cityscape. Tasked with taking pictures of interesting objects, you’ll find a fully functional in game photography system, filters, and a photo album to keep your captures in.

As you capture the view to a Lo-Fi soundtrack, flip back in the photo book to check out the flash cards you’ve captured, listen to the audio explanations of each object, and try memorising the romaji, kana, furigana, ) or kanji. While there are tons things to see, and even grammar quizzes included, the simple joy of causally clicking to learn makes this a wonderful way to begin tackling Japanese without having to sacrifice your streak to the big green bird above. Shashingo’s charming take on learning has already enamoured PC players with Very Positive Steam reviews and can now be found on the Switch Store for $20.00 with a limited launch discount.
