The developers from Mega Crit has prepared a first major update for the roguelike deck building game Slay the Spire 2. Beta content tested by the community for past month now comes to the main branch, bringing changes to the game balance and user experience. Moreover, the developers did a significant work with bugs fixes and reworked some game elements.
However, Slay the Spire 2 remains in Early Access, so further adjustments are still possible based on player feedback.

Balance Highlights
- Ascension 6 reworked: “Gloom” → “Inflation” (card removal at Merchant costs more)
- Ironclad: New card Not Yet; Dominate, Expect a Fight, Spite, Stoke reworked; Grapple removed
- Silent: Blade of Ink now generates Shivs with +2 damage and Weak; Acrobatics now Uncommon
- Regent: Arsenal and Regalite now work with any created cards (not just Colorless)
- Necrobinder: Borrowed Time reworked (Cost 1, gain 4/6 Energy; cards cost +1 Energy this turn)
- Neow: 5 new relics added (Hefty Tablet, Neow’s Talisman, Neow’s Bones, Phial Holster, Winged Boots)
- Enemies: Doormaker heavily reworked; Skulking Colony adjusted
Art and UI
- New official visuals for cards, relics, enemies, and Nonupeipe
- Badges system: Run-end achievements (boss without HP loss, speed runs, easter eggs, etc.)
- Leaderboards revamp: Now shows only friends’ scores; scoring based on win status, badges, and speed
- Phobia Mode added; controller support improved
Bug Fixes
- Fixed “Fatal Error” Steam cloud sync, crashes, softlocks, black-screen startup
- Fixed multiplayer disconnections (Error 5008) and controller navigation issues
