If you’ve been dying to lay eyes on Soulcalibur 6, you’re in luck thanks to this weekend’s PlayStation Experience. During the event, Motohiro Okubo hosted 10-minutes’ worth of game play along with developer insights into the game’s development. Soulcalibur 5 launched over five years ago.
Soulcalibur 6 & weapons
It’s clear watching the video that weaponry is going to play a big part. One of the features revealed during the Game Awards was “Reversal Edge”. Essentially, this allows the game to slow down its normally frenetic pace to allow players to plan their next move. Okubo likened the game’s normal pace to “bullet-time combat movement” that gives players a sense of realistic parrying and dodging.
Also evident during the preview is the SC6’s improved graphics including lightning enhancements that will bring a new visual style to the game.
You can look for SC6 in 2018 on PlayStation 4, PC and XBox One.
