Digital Extremes is gearing up for its next big step in Soulframe’s slow-growing mythic wilderness. During this month’s Soulframe Devstream, the studio revealed that players will soon be able to become Founders when the 12th Preludes update arrives on November 25. It is still firmly in Pre-Alpha, but Digital Extremes is clearly ready to let early supporters plant deeper roots in the world of Alca.
Four Founders paths will be available, each loaded with cosmetics, weapons, armour sets, dyes, a pair of invite codes, and even bird accessories, because every fantasy hero needs a stylish avian buddy. One reward even crosses over into Warframe, giving Founder players an Envoy’s Sphere Sword Skin usable in The Old Peace update. Full pricing details will be announced soon on the Soulframe Founders website, though the studio has not yet tipped its hand.
Creative Director Geoff Crookes described the Founders rollout as a chance for players to help shape the game’s emotional core. According to Crookes, Soulframe aims to be a world grounded in patience and redemption. It is an intentionally quieter direction compared to the studio’s long-running space ninja spectacle, and the Founders initiative is meant to establish that identity early.
Alongside the new program, Digital Extremes offered a preview of Soulframe’s Preludes 12 update:
- The headliner is a new Greatsword grip type, adding another way to smack down corruption across the countryside.
- New player onboarding is getting a significant overhaul, giving clearer guidance on how to begin Fables and track journal progress.
- Grandfa’s Hut is being added as a test ground where players can try all three starting Pacts before choosing their gameplay style.
- Travel is also getting smoother thanks to clearer map markers and Wevetseed fast travel points,
- Combat-minded players can track down The Cogah, a new elixir used to trigger tougher rematches against roaming Agari sub-bosses.
A handful of free world updates are also on the way:
- Zenith, a friendly dale seer camel, is joining the Nightfold as a new vendor.
- Siege Encounters will bring new side-quest combat challenges at enemy forts, complete with territory-signifying balloons that need a good deflating.
- Performance in these missions feeds into a new infamy rating that persists into future Sieges.
- The studio also revealed that Jennifer English will join the cast as Alora, Empress of Eldveil.
Players can sign up for the ongoing closed Preludes test through the official Soulframe website. Digital Extremes continues to draw testers weekly, so anyone curious about this slower, more soulful sibling to Warframe still has a chance to wander in early.
