Indie developer BrainSeal announced a new chapter with Dark Quest 4, coming to PC and console in 2025.
While we love the likes of Larian’s RPG adventures, there’s something enthralling about the news that indie outfit BrainSeal has a new Dark Quest coming to screens. The news dropped last night, giving potential warriors, mages, and the like a look at the next chapter in this dungeon crawling series, and a glimpse of the challenge ahead. Coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch during Fall 2025, the blend of strategy and nostalgia is likely to delight.
At its core, Dark Quest 4 is a turn-based RPG set in a dark fantasy world. Blending strategy and imagination, it takes players on an epic quest across a new land. Players build a party of three heroes, form a seeming range of archetypes, and take on incredible missions to complete their journey. Each of the missions make up 30+ Hours of handcrafted campaign content and supports up to 3 players in multiplayer mode.
Where Dark Quest really starts to stand out, on first look, is its take on tabletop. Rather than plunge players into the midst of this Dungeons & Dragons inspired event, it pulls back a bit and leans on the likes of Hero Quest. Inserting an evil mage as your fully voiced dungeon master and presenting an isometric tabletop, you’ll watch your own warriors as if you’re playing in person. Beautifully animated and tingling those retro feels just a little, this is an intriguing notion. If you don’t quite have the inkling for a VR tabletop adventure in the likes of Demeo then this take on the genre might be worth watching out for. You can find out more and Wishlist the game now over on Steam or the official website.
