Runescape: Dragonwilds trailers show off goblins attacking a player

Jagex has dropped two Runescape: Dragonwilds trailers giving us a glimpse at the newest game in Gielinor.

After announcing a survival sandbox based on the iconic Runescape IP, the studio behind this new frontier just dropped two new trailers. Giving us a glimpse of this world, the Runescape: Dragonwilds trailers are a look ahead to the world of Ashenfall and the challenges that await.

The two trailers come after an announcement and a few limited looks ahead to the upcoming Runescape spin off. The first spin off based on the major MMO is a survival spin off in a long-forgotten part of the world called Ashenfall. Here, dragons rule and ancient magics await. Powerful spells players a range of unique and malleable abilities, while dungeons and boss challenges await, all wrapped up in a familiar hack and craft game system.

Fight The World

The world trailer is around 2 minutes of foliage, ferns, and abandoned castles. Between autumnal leaves and rolling hills, this trailer shows off the environments and underground hideouts you’ll explore in Dragonwilds. The glorious forests are a fantastic hiding place from the eyes of hungry dragons, while abandoned ruins hold secrets and maybe even powerful magics that can help fell foul beasts. This trailer also gives a brief glimpse of the overall style coming to screens. When it arrives in Early Access, the new title looks set to straddle something between the jaunty vibe of Runescape and the more intense approaches of Wow, Wildstar, and Dauntless as it goes into third person mode.

The move away from the silly into something a bit more in your face is detailed further in the gameplay trailer. This runs through the world, crafting, casting, and using magic to cut down trees and wildlife. The powerful building system is shown off, and players even face a dragon just before it all wraps up. Runescape: Dragonwilds was an unexpected announcement for the community, and it’s going to be interesting to see what it brings to the table. You can forget the dinosaurs of Ark and fell some dragons instead, Check out the new Dragonwilds trailers and head to the official website before this new adventure begins.
