Thirty years ago, Tales of Phantasia, the first game of the series, was released in Japan for Super Famicom. The journey began long ago, but the series keeps living, getting both new games and remakes. Moreover, several games of the series received an anime adaptation, including movies and TV series.
An anniversary video celebrated the Tales of series, highlighting iconic titles such as Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria. The latest game, Tales of Arise, concludes the trailer, yet not the franchise’s fate. Released 5 years ago, this game contributed to the Tales of series, bringing new gameplay and a fresh perspective. It was accepted well by the players, which gives hope for more new titles to come. However, Tales of Arise remains the most recent original game. The development focus has since shifted towards the creation of remakes of classic games within the series, indicating an ongoing commitment to the franchise’s legacy while fans await the next new adventure.
