Tenebrea – Horror Based on Real Events Announced

Bowl of Tentacles studio announced a psychological horror, based on the real events – Tenebrea. The first person dreadful adventure promises to take players to Valencia, where strange events occur in the local university dormitory. Objects move on their own, shadows are lurking around and strange phantoms walking through the empty halls – everything there is not a mere fiction. Every event of the game is said to be based on real events, written down from the witnesses experience.

Tenebrea tells a horror story through the student Laura, who wants to examine the building and uncover its mysteries. The gameplay is focused on the exploration and puzzles solving, while paranormal activity never stops. The main tool in the player’s possession is a phone. Its lantern can cast away the shadows, while EMF-detector alarms of the supernatural activities. The events of the game are based on real events. The story says that the tragic death of the worker became a trigger for the paranormal activities.

One of the most disturbing stories from the local dormitory came from a night watchman. He recounted how two students once witnessed a television turning on by itself in the middle of the night. The glow from the screen illuminated the figure of a man standing beside one of the beds. According to their testimony, the man was wearing a reflective vest, like those worn by repair workers.

When security asked which room this happened in, it turned out to be the very same room from which a worker had previously fallen to his death. In the aftermath of this discovery, the dean decided to seal the room permanently.

Tenebrea comes to PC (Steam), Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in 2026.
