With great cheating comes great ban hammering. Yea, I think that works. Activision pulled out the stops and slammed 90,000 people with the ban hammer in the last week alone. This is supposedly for Warzone and Vanguard lobbies.
There were no specifics about what types of bans were handed out but most bans are given because of hacking, cheating, or cheesing the system in a way that is not appropriate. The bans are part of the ongoing expansion to the Ricochet Anti-Cheat software that was installed last year. It is server-side and it was created by Activision to try and fight such instances.
On PC there was a kernel-level driver added to try and make the detections of cheats and hacks easier, but it has also been hit with some serious kickback because of the potential for privacy invasion issues. The company says that it will only run when the game is turned on and only search for COD-related items but, only time will tell.

I haven’t played Warzone in a little while now and even months ago when I loaded in there were hackers in games I played. It is good that they are trying to address the issues at hand.
