From legendary Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Nausicaa of the Vally of the Wind & many others) comes a new anime film: The Boy and the Heron. Check out the official teaser trailer to prepare for its arrival in theatres nationwide and IMAX December 8.
The events of the film follow a boy named Mahito Maki and a talking grey heron that helps him discover an abandoned tower and enter a fantastical world. Slated to be Miyazaki’s last feature film, The Boy and the Heron theatrically released in Japan in July.
“A young boy named Mahito, yearning for his mother, ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.”
