Fear comes to life when The Cecil: The Journey Begins brings a horrific hotel to screens on 3rd April 2025.
Genie Interactive Games, Snail Inc. and Wandering Wizard have confirmed your check in date for a night or three at the infamous Cecil Hotel. The real-life legacy of a haunted establishment inspires a new tale. Next month, PC players can wake up in an unfortunate room with little in the way of luxuries, find the other members of your tour group, and get the heck out before something worse happens.
Initially announced during February with a Next Fest demo, this one star hotel plays host to a psychological horror. Players taking the trip will find themselves in the role of John, waking up in a dark cell. With his wife, Sarah, missing too, a romantic getaway is going very wrong. You’ll need to help John explore the hotel’s decaying and claustrophobic corridors. Among the shadows, something else lingers. The walls whisper and you’ll need to take on these ominous fiends. I’d rather avoid them entirely to be honest.
Unlock a route out by solving a range of puzzles, and if all else fails shoot your way out. Definitely taking a little inspiration from the early days of Resident Evil, The Cecil: The Journey Begins is the sort of break you maybe want to keep the lights on for. Check out the trailer above and head over to the Steam Store page to Wishlist terror now.
