The Dungeon Is Calling: Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG and Unstoppable Card Game Launch This April

Fans of Dungeon Crawler Carl have something big to look forward to this spring. Renegade Game Studios has announced that the Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG and Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable will launch together as a joint Backerkit campaign in April, bringing two very different tabletop experiences set in Matt Dinniman’s brutal, darkly funny universe.

The headline project is the Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game, a full tabletop RPG that adapts the series’ lethal dungeon-crawling, reality-show chaos into a cooperative pen-and-paper format. Players will take on the role of Crawlers navigating deadly floors, absurd challenges, and the constant threat of permanent failure, all while entertaining an unseen audience. While Renegade has not yet shared full mechanical details, the RPG is positioned as a narrative-forward system designed to capture the tone of the books, mixing survival horror, satire, and over-the-top escalation as the dungeon evolves.

Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable is a separate, standalone solo card game that offers a different way to experience the setting. Designed for single-player and co-op sessions, Unstoppable focuses on quick decision-making, replayability, and the relentless pressure that defines Carl’s climb through the dungeon. It is aimed at fans who want a more contained, pick-up-and-play experience without the commitment of a full RPG group.

To build early momentum, Renegade is offering a low-cost reservation option ahead of the campaign’s April launch. For $5, backers can reserve their spot on Backerkit and receive two exclusive bonuses once the campaign goes live. The first is a free Desperado Club D2, a thematic collectible tied directly to the Dungeon Crawler Carl universe. The second is a personalized Crawler Number, letting early supporters claim their official place in the dungeon before the campaign even begins.

The dual-project approach makes the Backerkit launch notable even for fans who may not typically back tabletop RPGs. Those interested in long-form storytelling and group play can dive into the RPG, while solo players or collectors can gravitate toward Unstoppable, with both projects sharing the same irreverent tone and high-stakes setting.

With the campaign scheduled for April, Dungeon Crawler Carl is shaping up to make a major jump from page to tabletop. Whether you want to survive the dungeon with friends or face it alone, Renegade’s upcoming Backerkit launch looks ready to put Crawlers through the wringer once again.
