The developers from ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda Softworks have introduced a new feature for The Elder Scrolls Online. The changes come along with Update 50 introducing the Veterancy system, a new progression line for PvP combat in the Alliance War, Imperial City, and Battlegrounds. The system launches alongside a permanent Vengeance campaign.
New Feature Details
- Veterancy advances from rank 1 to 100, with rewards at each step and a repeatable reward available after max rank.
- Players advance by gaining Alliance Points (fastest) or Experience Points (from quests and monsters) in Cyrodiil campaigns, Battlegrounds, or the Imperial City.
- PvP seasons reset roughly every six months (typically after six 30-day Cyrodiil campaigns).
- When seasons reset, rank returns to 1 and temporary titles are removed, but all other rewards are retained. New rewards become available each season.
Rewards
- Currencies, items, and collectibles
- Substantial number of Trade Bars per season for use in the Gold Coast Bazaar
- New weapon and armor styles
- Skill styles
- Vengeance campaign loadout perks (full set unlocks early to maintain a level playing field)
- Temporary titles displayed on nameplates in PvP areas for the duration of the season
Tracking Progress
- Players can view their rank and all earned or earnable rewards in a new tab within menus, accessible from the Campaign Selection / Scoring UI.
Veterancy is part of Season Zero and arrives with Update 50 on June 8, 2026.
