ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda Softworks have presented an update 49 for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. The base game patch is now live on all platforms, bringing new features and improvements. Moreover, it brings in the foundational systems for the upcoming Season Zero, starting on 2 April 2026. The new content is free for all ESO players and available right after the patch.
Update Overview
- Dragonknight Class Refresh: Complete rework of core abilities, skill lines, animations, VFX, and sounds. Class now emphasizes attrition-focused combat with broader role options.
- Two-Handed Skill Line Rework: Updated animations, VFX, and sounds for improved combat feel.
- Player Experience Improvements: New mounts from stable masters, free attribute and skill point reallocation, account-wide outfit slots, increased furnishing limits, and more quality-of-life additions.
- Four Classic DLCs Added to Base Game: Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood are now included for all ESO owners for free.
- ESO Plus Enhancements: Members receive Tome Point bonuses, monthly Tome Point caches, Premium Tome Tokens, increased Transmutation Crystal capacity, higher furnishing limits, and extended Antiquity System lead times.
Upcoming Season Zero Features
- Gold Coast Bazaar (March 25): New rewards store for returning collectibles and items. Players can earn Trade Bars via events, Twitch Drops, and Tamriel Tomes.
- Tamriel Tomes (April 2): Battlepass-style system with free and premium reward tracks. Players earn Tome Points through challenges to unlock seasonal rewards, currencies, and collectibles.
- Night Market Event Zone (April 29 – June 17): New zone in Fargrave featuring faction choice, PvE encounters, quests, and unique rewards.
