A massive universe arrives on mobile as EVE Galaxy Conquest launches across iOS and Android.
CCP Games, the studio behind the epic sandbox sim EVE Online, just launched a free-to-play 4X strategy game. Charting the depths of nulsec on iOS and Android, this new take on the long running outer space adventure is a fast-paced 4X gameplay that combines resource management, diplomacy, and combat. If you don’t need any more convincing, prepare yourself with the launch trailer and head to the App Store or Google Play Store to being now.
Players who decide to take on this version of EVE will find plenty that seems familiar, all wrapped up in a brand-new challenge. While EVE Echoes took the core of the big screen original and crammed it into a small screen expedition, EVE Echoes asks players to pick one of four powerful empires – Caldari State, Gallente Federation, Amarr Empire, or Minmatar Republic. Loading up into the borders of factional space, you’ll head out to explore and develop the surrounding regions. Harvest resources, build infrastructure, gather forces, advance using alliances, or simply blow away whatever stands in your way. It’s all standard fare for the genre, with a familiar IP.
This seems to be a very traditional 4X strategy, with the expectation that thousands of players will take a new top-down view on their little corner of space, then compete to win out in a battle of wits, diplomacy, and martial prowess. If you want a bit of EVE on the go or Infinite Lagrange already has its hooks in you, then this might be worth a look. There’s nothing to lose on free to play, thankfully. If you’re more inclined to go big or go home then EVE Online and the upcoming fps sandbox EVE Vanguard continue to be solid big screen sci-fi escapades.
