Developer Owlcat Games took to Steam to share a deeper look at Origins coming with aRPG The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. These options give you a chance to figure out exactly who your character was before the events of the game.
“During character creation, you will choose between three distinct origins: Earther, Martian, or Belter. Each of these origins offers unique bonuses to your exploration skills, starting gear, unique armor look, and affects you and your twin’s physical appearance. But the best part is how origins can alter your character’s journey throughout the game.”
As a player, you will be able to consider what led your character to where they are now, and how it might affect their present and future. Other characters will acknowledge your past choices and react to them in turn, giving extra opportunities for role-play and self-expression.
The world of The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is wrought with tension and politics between Earth, Mars and Ceres. Amid the hostilities, you will need to return to your roots and seek the help of your origin’s faction, opening interesting new paths for your character. The other factions, meanwhile, will treat you with suspicion. The developers also promise a wealth of origin-exlusive content to enjoy.
Your past connections and relationships will play an important role in your story. You will need to track down representatives of your specific faction and figure out how to secure their support. Establishing and strengthening connections to specific factions will play a major role later in the game, but no reason to spoil that now.
