Beware deception meet the shrine maiden in Fox Maiden in The Fox’s Way Home, available on PC screens now.
BeXide has released a deceptive new adventure that will whisk players away and challenge them to find a way home. Available now on PC, via Steam, this new tale is an unexpected mix of dance, attitude, and mystical deception. For $15.99 / €15.99 / £13.49 or local equivalent, players will find themselves transported to a mystical realm and face to face with a dance challenge and a fox shrine maiden.
Channelling VTuber energy, this aloof companion will offer a way out of the ether. In order to get where you need to be, you’ll need to witness all of the rituals she performs. Her dances must be completed eight times in a row, which seems reasonable. However, a sly apparition will take the form of the maiden and attempt to interfere with the ritual. You’ll nee to spot the imposter for the Trial of Identification.
Under the anime aura, this seems to be a simple enough concept and casual excursion to another world. The compelling feature is its execution. Designed by the team behind HoloLive Treasure Mountain, Yohane the Parhelion, and more, this brings together a stylized 3D encounter and a bit of an attitude. The fox shrine maiden is voiced by Uchida Maaya (Bocchi the Rock), and hopefully lands a bit closer to the chaos of traditional VTubing than anything else. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this expedition but if you’ve ever wanted to have a mystical maiden call you an idiot, then this is definitely going on your Wishlist.
