During today’s Nintendo Direct we finally got official news on the Nintendo Switch 2. The follow up to Nintendo’s hybrid on the go console is coming to store shelves on 5 June 2025fopor around $449 or local equivalent.
Players are going to get an upgraded version of the original Switch. An improved display, improved processing power, more storage space, a new display, and redesigned Joycons are all part of the upcoming package.
Despite the similar look, the Switch 2 is drastically improved upon the last iteration. A vivid LCD Display hosts nearly twice as many pixels as before. The screen runs up to 120 frame per second, supports HDR and will provide 1080p resolution. 256GB of internal storage provides tons of room for games, which will include new and some compatibility with old games.
The new controllers provide a ton of changes for owners. Aside from the expected mouse function, the new Joycons have a new C button, unlocking game chat for players. While this was decidedly missing from the original Switch launch, the new feature provides full family and friend voice chat, game sharing, and even video sharing with a camera add on.
Alongside the price and technical specifications, players can expect a wealth of games designed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.
